Preen 'n Green How it Works

Preen 'n Green Drum & Canister

Preen 'n Green effectively combines the two steps of weed prevention and fertilizing into one easy step. Preen 'n Green prevents summer and winter annual weeds from growing in flower and vegetable beds and around trees and shrubs for up to three months. The balanced 9-17-9 fertilizer of nitrogen, phosphorous and potash works to provide abundant blooms, increased yields, strong root development and improved plant vigor.

Preen 'n Green is the only pre-emergent endorsed by the American Rose Society. For lawn weed control, see the products listed under Lawns.

Preen 'n Green prevents new weeds from growing, it does not kill existing weeds. Preen 'n Green works by creating a chemical barrier in the top 1-2 inches of the soil that prevents cell division in developing weed seeds.

The Preen'n Green chemical attaches to the soil particles.

Preen 'n Green sets up a weed control zone in the top inch of the soil surface where most weed seeds germinate. The Preen 'n Green chemical interferes with the cell division process in the root tip of the weed seeds.

Preen 'n Green causes the weed seedling to die before you ever see it emerge from the soil surface.
